Assisi from Basilica di San Francesco
The square leading to the basilica
The basilica was built on a hill called Inferno Hell as criminals were executed here by 13th century.
To keep with Jesus, who had died on the cross with criminals, San Francis asked his followers to bury him here.
The hill was renamed Paradise Hill afterwards.
